My Computer

Hopefully, I'll actually keep this up to date. Several friends are asking what I'm currently running at home since it is fairly well known that I like playing with PC parts for a hobby. Being an avid gamer drives the need for new hardware, and I really enjoy buying and testing various parts. While I am rarely at "the bleeding edge", I stay pretty close by.

I have two primary computers. One runs the home theater, the other is my "work" setup. The HTPC was built primarily to play games and be very quiet without resorting to water cooling as I did for the old gaming rig. It is comprised of the following parts:

    Zalman HD160 HTPC case

    Asus P5WDH-Deluxe MB

    Intel Core 2 E8500 CPU

    Nvidia 8800 GTS 640MB video card

    4 GB Corsair PC800 DDR2

    3x Western Digital 500GB RE2 drives running RAID 5 (1 TB of storage)

    Zalman 600w power supply

    LG Blu-Ray Player

The HTPC drives an Optoma H78DC3 projector and fills a 106" screen (more details on the home theater page)
